AIRTEC and expoAIR decide on joint future
Zorneding/Frankfurt, 5.9.2018: The aerospace supply chain fairs expoAIR and AIRTEC go common ways in the future. Last Friday a cooperation contract was signed between the two makers of AIRTEC and expoAIR, Mrs. Diana Schnabel and Mr. Thomas Eisenberg. The agreement includes both the mutual realization this autumn and a long-term partnership. Both events will take place from 20-22 November 2018 at the MTC Munich.
“The advantages and synergies were obvious”, in this point Thomas Eisenberg, managing director of expoSTAGE and organizer of expoAIR, and Diana Schnabel, organizer of AIRTEC, agree. “Especially offering our exhibitors, speakers and visitors a promising home with immense growth potential was important to us”, the two continued. Thereto both partners want to contribute their respective strengths, bundle their excellence and thus become an outstanding industry meeting point. There were several important arguments in favour of Munich as the venue for the future event: leading high-tech location in Germany with numerous corporate headquarters and R&D centers, the state of Bavaria, regarding aviation as strategic topic for the future, the synergetic cooperation of aviation and automotive industry - particularly relevant for the future of innovative mobility, Munich Airport, which ensures perfect accessibility from all over the world and, of course, the incomparable international appeal of the Bavarian state capital.
But also the exhibitors, represented by Dr. Olaf Günnewig, Business Development Manager Aerospace at SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS and chairman of the AIRTEC exhibitor advisory board at the signing of the contract, take a consistently positive view of the new cooperation: "In my opinion, this cooperation is only a first step in significantly strengthening Germany as an aerospace location. The interaction of the aerospace and automotive industries in shaping the future of mobility will determine the economic future of Germany as a whole. Something can develop here that will secure plenty of jobs for everyone in the long term. The cooperation of expoAIR and AIRTEC offers the ideal breeding ground for this."
The partners want to take advantage of this positive tailwind to synchronize all issues relating to the operational implementation in the coming days. What is already clear is that there will be a joint ticket for the event. And a motto has already been found: "AIRTEC meets expoAIR".

2016 editions' exhibitors of AIRTEC and Euromold expecting a huge step into the future
About a dozen exhibitors of AIRTEC 2016 and of Euromold 2016 last week shared their views on the combined event from October 25th to October 27th on the fairground in Munich with interested exhibitors, visitors, journalists and politicians. In a overcrowded auditorium at the fairground all of them agreed in some important facts: Munich as the home of AIRTEC and Euromold most likely is the best place for these trade shows in Germany. An important reason is the unparalleled concentration of TecDax listed companies around Munich - proving Bavaria to be one of the strongest regions in the German technology sector.
A second fact often mentioned as base of the exhibitors' positive forecast is the current learning from each other by Automotive and Aerospace industry. Both industries are extremely strong at AIRTEC and at Euromold. Putting these branches together will even strenghten the combined event. Automotive industry has an incredible knowledge on the production of large numbers of pieces. A knowledge that Aerospace industry wants to take over. On the other hand, aerospace industry is well experienced with unconventional lightweight materials in production. A need for future generations of cars.
Last but not least the fact that Euromold since about two decades is home of the 3D printing industry - a group of technologies that recently reached maturity to be widely used within aerospace. This fact resulted in more and more Euromold visitors from aerospace year by year and in more and more additive manufacturing topics at AIRTEC. Operating AIRTEC and Euromold together and at the same time seems to be the logic result of all these facts.

Aerospace exhibition started brilliantly in Bavaria!
AIRTEC celebrated premiere in Munich on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
Munich / Frankfurt, November 18, 2015
Aerospace trade show AIRTEC has made its premiere at the Exhibition Center in Munich with great success. Visitors, exhibitors and participants are reporting enthusiastically. For the first time fully booked AIRTEC has arrived at its destination in the industry.
Everyone agreed: the relocation of AIRTEC to the Exhibition Center in Munich means a positive effect for the entire industry. There are many reasons for this: "Already last year, the participants of AIRTEC were highly satisfied - the move to the center of one of the world's most important and traditional aerospace regions has pushed this event forward," says Diana Schnabel, CEO of AIRTEC. An important role might have played as well the fact that the aerospace industry is represented at AIRTEC year by year with more complete coverage. This year so significantly that the show was completely sold out.
In addition to the B2B meetings at AIRTEC, which have been evaluated due to the modern B2B platform by many participants as "best in class", there were numerous highlights: Dr. Gerd Gruppe, Member of the Executive Board and responsible for the German space administration at the German Center for Aerospace DLR, presented the German space strategy and an outlook for the coming "New Space Economy". Dr. Hans Koenigsmann, Vice-President at SpaceX in California drew the attention of the audience by his fabulous presentation as well as Brigadier General Jörg Lebert, who gave an overview on the strategy of the German Bundeswehr for unmanned flying in the next decades. And also when it comes to supply chain optimization, the core theme of AIRTEC, more high-ranking experts from OEMs and Primes participated than ever before. A whole day was dedicated to 3D printing. The interest in the additive manufacturing process and its possibilities, especially in the aerospace industry, is enormous – ultimately there is hardly another industry to find which benefits so much from the diverse new ways, for example by weight reduction.
Overall, 6,745 aerospace experts from 46 nations met in Munich. 536 companies participated in the 12.823 B2B meetings and the international congress attracted 764 participants to the Exhibition Center in Riem. The total number of exhibitors was 400 from 27 countries. The top represented nations were Germany, followed by Italy, Spain, the USA, Austria and Great Britain. But also countries such as Brazil, Belgium, the Philippines, Pakistan and Indonesia were strongly represented and waved their flag.
How important AIRTEC has become for the business location and for the aerospace industry demonstrated the statements of the Bavarian government before the official opening. Ilse Aigner, Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs, highlighted the move from AIRTEC to Bavaria as a big win for the business location and underlined likewise the importance of the international trade fair for the aerospace industry in Bavaria.
The continuation of the AIRTEC success story in Bavaria is the declared objective of AIRTEC CEO Schnabel: "In 2016, AIRTEC will open its doors from 25th to 27th of October - of course again at the Exhibition Center in Munich. We are already working on many innovations which will make the AIRTEC even better. Look forward with us to the next AIRTEC!"

Another highlight at Munich fairgrounds
World Aerospace Supply Fair AIRTEC for the first time in Munich-Riem
Munich / Frankfurt, 2nd November 2015
The International Exhibition Center Munich gets a new highlight. The World Supply Fair for the Aerospace Industry AIRTEC for the first time at the Exhibition Center in Munich-Riem, from the 3rd to 5th of November. Experts from all around the world meet in the Bavarian capital to learn the latest trends in the aerospace supply industry. Major topics are environmentally friendly flying, competitive advantage through cost efficiency and the use of advanced technologies and 3D printing in aerospace.
Aerospace is one of the key industries for the future. This is not only the spirit of the Bavarian Aerospace Strategy 2030, published last spring as a guideline by Ilse Aigner, Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology. For the business location it is very important as well to line up perfectly in global competition.
In this context, the technology-oriented trade show AIRTEC followed the call to Munich, dedicated to the optimization of the aerospace supply chain. On the occasion of her 10th birthday, AIRTEC opens its doors for the first time at the exhibition grounds in Munich Tuesday to Thursday. There are several reasons to celebrate its 10th birthday: AIRTEC is fully booked and bursting at the seams.
But more important are the contents: How can flying become more environmentally friendly? For example, by electric propulsion. There is a whole session dedicated to this issue. What are the materials of the future? Furthermore, fiber reinforced plastics? What is state-of-the-art in 3D printing? Hardly any other industry seems to benefit so much from it, such as aerospace. This is reason enough to spend a full day session on additive technologies, organized by the most renowned industry experts from the United States.
But also the saving of human lives through the use of unmanned aerial systems is a key issue at AIRTEC, besides the public discussion in which unmanned flying is often perceived as a war technology. Firefighters, the German Life Saving Association “DLRG” and German Mountain Rescue explain how much the disdained flyer already help them and how it works in detail.
