When you arrive at the airport, there are various options available for your onward journey to Messe Augsburg.
From Munich Airport to Augsburg
By car / rental car / taxi- Take the A92 and, at the München-Feldmoching triangle, take the A99 in the direction of Stuttgart / Augsburg / Lindau / München-West. Keep right to stay on the A99.
- Then take the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart / Augsburg to the junction Augsburg-West.
- Then take the B17 in the direction of Landsberg a. Lech and exit the federal highway at the exit Augsburg-Messe.
- The journey takes approx. 1 hour.
By public transportation
- Take S-Bahn line S8 (city train) or the Lufthansa Airport bus, which runs every 20 minutes to get from the airport to Munich central station.
- It takes about 30 minutes by ICE (intercity express train) from Munich central station and approx. 50 minutes by regional train to Augsburg central station.
- In Augsburg, use the local public transportation of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (AVV) to travel to Messe Augsburg.
From Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg to Augsburg
By car / rental car / taxi- Take the A73 and, at the motorway intersection Nürnberg Süd (Nuremberg South), take the A6 in the direction of Heilbronn / Ansbach to the junction Schwabach.
- Then take the B2 in the direction of Donauwörth.
- At the Augsburg-West intersection, take the B17 in the direction of Landsberg a. Lech.
- Exit the federal highway at the exit Augsburg-Messe.
By public transportation
- Take the underground line U2 in the direction of Röthenbach to get to Nuremberg central station. The journey takes approx. 13 minutes.
- The journey from Nuremberg central station to Augsburg central station takes approx. 75 minutes.
- In Augsburg, use the local public transportation of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (AVV) to travel to Messe Augsburg.
From Allgäu Airport Memmingen to Augsburg
By car / rental car / taxi- Take the A96 in the direction of Munich to the junction Landsberg a. Lech West.
- Then take the B17 in the direction of Augsburg and exit this federal highway at the exit Augsburg-Messe.
- The journey takes approx. 1 hour.
By public transportation
- You can take the bus from the airport to Bahnhof Memmingen railway station (approx. 15 minutes).
- Then take the train from Memmingen to Augsburg (approx. 1.5 hours).
- In Augsburg, use the local public transportation of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (AVV) to travel to Messe Augsburg.
From Stuttgart Airport to Augsburg
By car / rental car / taxi- Take the A8 in the direction of München/Ulm to the junction Augsburg-West.
- Then take the B17 in the direction of Landsberg a. Lech and exit the federal highway at the exit Augsburg-Messe.
- The journey takes approx. 1.5 hours.
By public transportation
- Take the bus or the city train S2 or S3 to Stuttgart central station.
- The train journey from Stuttgart central station to Augsburg central station takes approx. 2.5 hours.
- In Augsburg, use the local public transportation of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (AVV) to travel to Messe Augsburg.
From the City Airport Augsburg to Messe Augsburg
By car / taxi / transfer service- Take the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart to the junction Augsburg-West.
- Then take the B17 in the direction of Landsberg a. Lech and exit the federal highway at the exit Augsburg-Messe.
- The journey takes approx. 20 minutes.
By public transportation
- Take the bus to Augsburg central station.
- At Augsburg central station, use the local public transportation of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (AVV) to travel to Messe Augsburg.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS
by car
The Airtec site is easy to reach by car. For the exact location in Google Maps, simply click on the link below. There are plenty of parking spaces directly in front of the entrance. When you arrive, a friendly signpost will direct you to a free parking space.
Parking is free of charge.
by plane
Munich Airport (MUC) is easy to reach from all over the world. As Germany’s second largest airport, the connections could hardly be better.
The best way to get from the airport to the Airtec site is to take the S-Bahn. To do so, follow the green (S) signs in the airport to the central area. There you can take either the S1 or the S8 to Munich Central Station (“Hauptbahnhof”). From Munich Central Station, take the U2 (see map below) to the “Frankfurter Ring” stop. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs EUR 8.80.
From the underground station “Frankfurter Ring” it is about a 10 min walk. (See below)
You can also take a taxi from the airport to the Airtec site. Such a taxi ride costs approximately EUR 80 to EUR 90.
by train
If you arrive by train, travel to Munich central station (“Hauptbahnhof”). From there take the U2 to “Frankfurter Ring”. See map below. The journey on the U2 takes approx. 15 minutes and costs EUR 3.50 (if the ticket is not already included in the price of your train ticket).
